Love This Commercial

Posted in Advertising, Brand Identity, Industry News by Grafiko on August 9, 2008

While enjoying the Olympics these weekend, I saw this Nike commercial that I believe is simply great. The combination of imagery, sound editing and message is stunning. At the end of it you will want to stand up and start running.

If you visit www.nike.com/courage you can see the ad but I it will give you each athlete’s history of courage. This is a great example of an image campaign that will sell more than any shoe commercial ever will. Enjoy

I agree–great commercial. The somewhat subtle concept that soldiers (i.e. war) are not the only way to move the world toward a more acceptable order. The positive example of athletes in honest competition–striving for excellence–can help lead (rather than drive) the world in a positive direction.
Now I wonder where the “I’ve got soul…” soundtrack came from. Who’s singing. What’s the name of the song???

The song is “All These Things That I Have Done” by The Killers. It is a nice song.
